About Us

Kiyana Stansbury is the Director of Marketing and Small Business Services at Brick City Development Corporation (BCDC), the City of Newark’s economic development corporation, with overall responsibility for external communication activity and outreach including brand and sub-brand development, website development, the fielding of media outreach to local, regional, and national media outlets, stakeholder and community outreach, city-wide small business programs and services, and event functions related to small business growth and development in Newark.

Ms. Stansbury was previously a Senior Associate for Small Business Development at BCDC, in which her primary responsibility was to provide small business owners in the City of Newark with access to financing, technical assistance, and training.   Prior to coming to BCDC, Ms. Stansbury was the Director of Corporate and Foundation Relations at St. Philip’s Academy, where she was in charge of research and marketing, donor cultivation and new business development at the corporate and foundation level.   Ms. Stansbury also held key policy positions at the NJ Commerce & Economic Growth Commission.   She first served as a Business Research Specialist in the Office of Business Advocate/Business Resource Center where she researched, managed and delivered information services to business, industry, and consumers.   She later worked as a Research Assistant in the Marketing and Communications Division, providing customer service and promoting New Jersey tourism through business/industry events, as well as print advertisements.

Ms. Stansbury began her career as a Technology Relationship Manager at GMAC Commercial Mortgage (GMACCM).   In that capacity, she supported acquisitions of hundreds of loans from domestic and international servicing portfolios.   In addition, Kiyana provided technical support to corporate business units, communicated corporation-wide business initiatives, investigated technical solutions to business technology issues, and managed project timelines and costs.   Ms. Stansbury is a graduate of The University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia, PA.
